About the Event

The Growth Operating System course will teach you a method to embed a growth mindset at the core of  your organisation or product team: this will have a huge impact on both your product and business growth.

It was developed and tested by growth specialists: Yara Paoli, former VP of growth and marketing at Skyscanner and growth consultant for start ups, and her colleague Ewan Nicolson, Skyscanner’s and BBC principal growth and data scientist.


Together they were vital to ensure the growth of the travel search engine to be the world’s largest. Skyscanner was eventually aquired for $ 1,74 billion.


The Growth OS is based on three core elements.

1. Growth Organisation: Organisational structure and set up 

2. Growth Science: How to apply data and technology to drive growth

3. Growth Culture and performance: How to build high performing growth teams

The upcoming Growth Metrics Deep Dive Master Class is part of the Growth Science. Through this online workshop, you will:

  1. Learn what growth is really about, what metrics are important for you and how to measure value generated with your product
  2. Understand why focusing on acquiring users and making money is  not enough
  3. Discover how to set up your business for sustainable long term growth 
  4. Define, measure and optimise for  your growth metrics with core focus on retention

What we will cover:

  • What is growth exactly? How do we find and define value? How do you know if your company is growing sustainably? 
  • How to Find your North Star Metric and how to create a metric tree to align key metrics across functions 
  • Beyond the pirate metrics: the VAARRR framework
  • Acquisition and activation: getting people to our product; getting users to experience value for the first time
  • Retention: getting users to come back and back at scale
  • Referrals: how to get users to bring other users to our product (better if for free!); 
  • Revenue: how to make money (in a sustainable way) 

This masterclass is practical, it is  not theory:

  • There will be plenty of examples and exercises where we will work on case studies, data sets and share back in groups
  • Some material will be shared in advance so you can prepare for the session
  • We will share frameworks, templates and pragmatic tools you can take away with you to do your growth job better.

The Masrterclass includes exercises, datasets, examples and to allow you to digest and learn the content we split this MasterClass into two sessions of 3 hours each. One will be on Saturday the 12th of September and one on Saturday the 19th of September (both from 3pm to 6pm Singapore time; 9am to 12 pm CEST)
